Welcome to AHS Senior Internship Course 2016

Welcome to the Senior Internship blog for Andale High School. This blog has multiple authors, including all 17 senior interns at AHS. Now that we're settled in and are midway through week four of school we can now share with you the exciting things that are taking place in our classroom and in our internships.

We currently have 17 seniors who are currently placed at businesses in Wichita, KS and the surrounding areas. This internship allows our interns to connect with their potential career they want to achieve in the near future. Skills acquired will be soft and hard skills, knowledge about lifestyles and education that our mentors have achieved, and learning how the "real world" works when it comes to finding the right career fit for us. In addition to the internship students are learning valuable information in regards to resumes, interviewing skills, college applications, financial aid, and the list goes on for miles!

This is Andale's first year for this program and will be a learning process not only for the students but for me as a teacher and our school. It's our goal to help these seniors have more direction when they graduate from AHS and take the next step in their life for post-secondary education whether that means a 4-year college or university or entering the workforce immediately.
